Congratulations to Lyndsay Sirois McGuire who recently relocated with her new husband, Matt McGuire to Maryland where he is serving our country in the US Marine Corps. Lyndsay just began her new job at Hilltop Farm.

Congratulations to Dustin Durham and Hot Rod (For Sale), 1st place winners of BOTH PgHA 3'9 Prix classes!!! The pair also won 2nd in the 3'6 jumpers and shared the spotlight with our own Shannon Mallon and Heaven Sent; the pair won a 1st and a 2nd in 3'6 jumpers, and placed a respectable 2nd in 3'9 jumpers. This was the pair's 1st time showing at that height, and they WOWED the spectators with Cloudy's AMAZING pony high-jump and Shannon's skillful equitation riding, which she has been working on perfecting over the past few months under the tutelage of Gemini Brittany Pledger and Dustin Durham. Erin Houck-Toll's Matisse placed 2nd and 3rd in the 2'9 jumpers with Dustin Durham in the irons. This was only Matisse' 2nd show!!! Our show team has again proven that proper training and conditioning pays off. Congratulations riders!!!
Noteably, Pam Houck's Pik Royale helped her realize a lifelong dream today. Pik had his 1st authentic driving experience with trainer Gemini Brittany Pledger. Pik is sadly unable to jump anymore due to an OCD condition which resulted in a stifle injury, but his amazing disposition has proven him to be perfectly suited for his career change.

- Gemini Brittany Pledger would like to thank her friend, Carlo Graziani, for his help in helping her start her promising young stallion, Pacifico. Brittany was the first to successfully mount and walk Pacifico, with assistance from Sergio Rodrigues, then Carlo took over the reins and has beautifully started him under saddle in all three gaits and over fences. Pacifico is coming along nicely and will make his show debut in December.

My daughters Brittany first, then Kelsey,
started with you 7 or 8 years ago; then we moved to Virginia:-(
We were at the VHSA State Championships in Lexington, VA this weekend and
while waiting to purchase an engraved bridle tag...There was a 'sample'
"Hunter Sound" luggage tag (small world). It had your name, address and etc.
Brittany and I often talk about how lucky she was to have you for her first
Trainer. You gave her a great base to build her riding on.
Brittany placed a respectable 5th and 6th in her class of 38-40. She is
jumping 2'6" now, rides 2-4 times a week, is a member of Hazelwild Farm
Equestrian Team here in Fredericksburg as well as the Interschool team and
volunteers with the beginner lessons.
Kelsey is jumping at 2' and content with local shows.
I had to let you know the coincidence! We check your site on a regular basis
and are glad to hear of your successes.

In attendance was instructor Gemini Brittany Pledger with students Lane Moore, Shannon Mallon, Kristen Coleman, and Erin Toll. Congratulations to Lane Moore and Atreju who won all three of their Level 6 Florida Young Rider classes!!! This was the pair's first time showing at that level. Erin Toll and her lovely new horse, Matisse, had a pleasant first show experience...and Shannon Mallon placed well catch-riding Golden Futures for Kristin Coleman in the Low Hunter division. Both Kristen and Shannon just recently returned to the show ring after both taking a year off. Congratulations riders!!!

Gemini Brittany Pledger is proud to announce that her son, James Pledger , age 12, was awarded the "Most Studious" award at his middle school. This is the second special award he has received this month. She says, "It is no accident that children raised in this environment continuously exhibit characters that will lead them to greater successes in life. In learning to ride and provide care for these animals, they are taught important life lessons like responsibility, discipline, character, empathy, sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership..." Brittany is proud of her children and her students their continued successes!!!

Hunter's Sound Stable's show team just returned from Wellington, where they enjoyed the beautifully renovated showgrounds at the renowned Palm Beach International Equestrian Center with their newest show rider, Sergio Rodrigues. All jumper classes commenced in the famed International Grand Prix Arena. The weather was fabulous and the show was well attended with full classes, despite being off-season. Everyone was happy to see many old friends, as well a meeting some new friends! Sergio had four steady, clean rounds out of four on Pik Royale, who was jumping in excellent form, even though he had never previously been shown. Pik Royale was just started under saddle in late fall by Dustin Durham and Gemini Brittany Pledger and Sergio has been been in the irons preparing Pik for the show ring for a little over a month. Thanks also to rider Casey Barley for her much appreciated help. We are thrilled to have our Sergio as part of our show team!
Lane Moore and Atreju took the Reserve Champion title in the Level 3 Child/Adult division, and also received 2nd place in the Marshall and Sterling. The pair consistently placed at the top of their classes, and won nearly $300 in prize monies awarded. Go Lane and Atreju!!!

Congratulations to Brittany's oldest son, James, who was honored as "Student of The Month" for May, 2008 at his middle school. James also recently qualified for the school Tennis team. He is a gifted athlete who rides on HSS Show Team, plays Football for the Riverdale Wildcats and also is on the Wrestling team for Riverdale Highschool's Youth.

"Orphan Foal" update. It has been one month since his 4am "red eye" arrival...a beautiful leggy Hannoverian foal tragically orphaned after his dam was untimely euthanized for Pyothesis, he had been the center of an emotional battle, which was broadcast on "The Chronicle Of The Horse"...
Barely one month old, he arrived motherless, wide eyed and confused, his future seemed uncertain... but we are happy to report that one month later he is healthy, normal, and thriving... His surrogate mother, Arabell, originally reluctant, over time has accepted him, and cares for him as if he was her very own.
He is now two months old, with a bright future ahead of him. Named, "Johnny Walker' by his proud new owner, Carlo Graziani, he spends his days playing and eating, as well as being the "Farm Greeter" in his paddock near the entrance of Hunter's Sound Stable.

Hunter's Sound Stable's own PEACEABLE to be recognized "Outstanding School Horse of the Year, 2009" by American Riding Instructor's Association. He will be receiving his award at the National Riding Instructor's Annual Convention, which will be held at The Naples Grande Beach Resort in Naples, Florida. Tickets are available for the entire convention, or just for the Awards Luncheon. Featured Speakers will be George H. Morris, Denny Emerson, Susan HArris, Jane Savoie, Peggy Brown,Sgt. Our flagship stallion, Pacifico, competes at the new South Florida Equine Sports Association show, Carlo Graziani in the irons, where the pair completes two flawless rounds in the Low Jumpers, 3', winning a first place and a second place ribbon in good company.
